Nishihama Beach

Nishi Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Japan, located on Hateruma Island, the southernmost inhabited island in Japan. Nishi" means "north" in the Ryukyuan dialect, and the beach stretches about 1 km in length in an arch shape on the northern side of the island.\n\nThe white fine sand and the color of the sea, which changes from emerald green to deep blue in gradations, are overwhelmingly beautiful. Because the island is a rustic island that has not been developed for tourism, it has preserved its pristine nature, and snorkelers can observe the abundant coral reefs and tropical fish up close.\n\nIt takes about 1 hour from Ishigaki Island to Hateruma Island by high-speed boat. The quiet island with a population of about 500 people is one of the highlights of the star-filled sky seen from the southernmost star observation tower in Japan.
