Okinawa All-Island Eisa Festival 2026

The largest festival celebrating Eisa, a traditional performing art born from Okinawa's Obon customs. Selected youth groups and Eisa teams from across the prefecture compete in Okinawa City (Koza). This is Okinawa's biggest traditional cultural event.

Okinawa Zenjima Eisa Festival 2026\n\nThe Okinawa Zenjima Eisa Festival, a traditional cultural festival that concludes the summer in Okinawa, will be held over three days.\n\n## What is Eisa?\n\nEisa is a traditional dance to send off the spirits of ancestors during the Bon Festival (the seventh month of the lunar calendar) in Okinawa. It is a brave performing art in which young people from each village dance while beating drums, and has been registered as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.\n\n## Program\n\n- Day 1 (Friday): Parade and Opening Ceremony\n- Day 2 (Saturday): Performances by various groups (daytime and evening performances)\n- Day 3 (Sun): Finals and Grand Finale\n\n## Points for spectators\n\nYou can also see a parade-style performance called "Michi-june" outside the stadium, which is free of charge.\n\n## Access\n\nApproximately 5 minutes by car from the Okinawa-kita IC of the Okinawa Expressway.\nApproximately 50 minutes from Naha Bus Terminal by bus bound for Okinawa City.
