What is Banta Cafe by Hoshino Resort?

Banta Cafe by Hoshino Resort is one of the largest ocean cafes in Japan, located in Yomitan Village, central Okinawa Island. Banta" means "cliff" in Okinawan language, and as the name suggests, the cafe is built on a beautiful seaside cliff surrounded by coral reefs, overlooking the emerald green ocean.

Four areas to relax

The café seats approximately 200 people and has four different areas, each with a different atmosphere. The "Terrace in the shade of palm trees" where you can feel the sea breeze, the "Terrace by the sea" closest to the lapping waves, the "Cafe stalls" where you can taste our special drinks, and the "Lounge on the rocks" where you can relax in a hammock-like mood, are all available for you to choose your favorite place depending on your mood and time of day.

From breakfast to sunset

Open from 10:00 on weekdays and from 8:00 on weekends and holidays, you can enjoy the breakfast menu, lunch, snacks, and sunset time drinks throughout the day. Open until one hour after sunset, you can also relax and enjoy the sunset view.

Admission free, no reservation required

Banta Cafe has no entrance fee and does not require reservations, making it a great place to stop by during a break from sightseeing. Not only guests of Hoshino Resort-affiliated "Hoshinoya Okinawa" and "Hotel Nikko Alivila" but also general tourists can freely use the cafe.

Access

Approximately 1 hour drive from Naha Airport. Located on the west coast of Yomitan Village, with parking available.

Visiting Tips

• Sunset time is especially popular, so come early!
• Choose an area with a roof if you want to avoid the strong sun and rain.
• There is also a seaside walking path, popular as a photo spot.
