The adjacent "Omoro Botanical Garden" exhibits about 30 kinds of plants that were composed in Okinawa's oldest song anthology "Omoro Soshi," including Fukugi, Daygo, and Ryukyu Pine, all of which are symbolic of the Okinawan climate. The local village is a popular spot for families, with seasonal events such as sugarcane squeezing and sanshin (Okinawan guitar) performances. Admission is free, and many tourists visit in conjunction with the Churaumi Aquarium, which is highly regarded as a facility where visitors can learn about Okinawa's history, folklore, and nature in its entirety.
