Southeast Botanical Gardens

Southeast Botanical Garden is the largest outdoor botanical garden in Japan, located in Okinawa City, Okinawa Prefecture. The vast site, where more than 50,000 tropical and subtropical plants of about 2,000 species grow, is rich in vegetation that takes advantage of Okinawa's warm climate.\n\nVisitors can observe giant banyan trees (banyan), palms, tropical fruits, hibiscus, and other plants typical of Okinawa throughout the year. During the "Night Walk" held at night, visitors can stroll through the botanical garden at night, surrounded by fantastic lights, and enjoy a mysterious atmosphere that differs from that of the day.\n\nThe vast garden also has a lotus pond, a water garden, and bird-watching spots, making it an ideal place for a stroll. It takes about 45 minutes from Naha by car.
