2026 "Nanmin Festival

This traditional festival is held annually on May 17 at Naha's main shrine, Hagamiya, and begins with the Yoimiya Festival on May 16, followed by four days of various events including the Okinawa Kakuriki Tournament, Ryukyuan dance, portable shrine parade (Shinkosai), and beach tug-of-war.

2026 Numin Festival

The "Namminsai" is a traditional festival held at Hagamigu Shrine, which has long been familiar to the public as the chief Shinto shrine of Naha. NAMIMIN" is the common name of HAGAMI-gu Shrine, and a variety of events are held around the annual festival on May 17.

About Hagamigu

Namiuegu Shrine is the highest of the eight Ryukyu shrines and sits on a cliff facing the sea in Naha. As a center of faith that prays for the safety of the sea and prosperity of the region, it is a popular spot that attracts many worshippers on New Year's visits.
