The 42nd Hurley Festival will be held on June 21, 2026, at Uza Beach in Yomitan Village. The traditional rowing competition will be held in the emerald green sea. This is a traditional Okinawan event to pray for safe voyages and a bountiful catch of fish, and many teams, including neighborhood associations and students, participate. Free admission.

The Yomitan Village Hurley Festival is a traditional Okinawan event that has been held on the emerald green shores of Uza to pray for safe voyages and bountiful catches since ancient times. Rowers join forces to row a small wooden boat called "sabani" and compete in a rowing race.

Spectator Access

General admission is free. Uza Beach is located in the northwestern part of Yomitan Village, near Cape Zanba, and offers a perfect location with clear blue ocean and white sandy beaches.
