Irabu Bridge

The 3,540-meter-long marine bridge connecting Miyako Island and Irabu Island is the longest free bridge in Japan, and opened in January 2015. The bridge is popular as a spectacular driving course stretching in a straight line over the cobalt blue Miyako blue sea, and the center of the bridge is built in a mountainous area to allow boats to pass through. The exhilaration of crossing the bridge in a rental car is a must-do experience for Miyako Island tourists.
