What is Ishigaki Island Sunset Beach?

Ishigaki Island Sunset Beach is a fee-based beach located on Hirakubo Peninsula in the northern part of Ishigaki Island. It is one of the most popular beaches in Ishigaki Island during the season with fine white sand and clear emerald green ocean.

• Period: May 1 - October 15
• Opening hours: 9:30-18:00 (last admission at 17:00)
• Admission: Adults 500 yen / Children 300 yen (6 years old to elementary school students)
• Parking: 500 yen per day

Admission fee includes use of showers, toilets, and changing rooms.

• Banana Boat / Biscuit: 3,000 yen / 10 min.
• SUP & Snorkeling Set: 8,000 yen / 60 min.

About Sunset

As the name "Sunset Beach" suggests, the sunset view is spectacular, but for facility management reasons, the facility closes** before sunset during the summer months (June to September), so you need to choose the right season to actually watch the sunset on the beach. You can view the sunset from the street or parking lot outside the facility.

• From Shin-Ishigaki Airport: 45 minutes by car
• From Ishigaki Port Terminal**: 60 min. by car

Located in the northern part of Hirakubo Peninsula, it is a little far from the center of Ishigaki Island, but that makes it less crowded and allows you to enjoy the pristine beach.

Visiting Tips

• Be sure to take sun protection (there is not much shade)
• Habu jellyfish prevention net available, safe for visitors with children
• Recommend driving around the peninsula in combination with Hirakubozaki Lighthouse
